I shot it yesterday. It did ok IMO. As expected it's not as accurate as it was. Ammo is 180 grain Core-Lokts. It actually seemed more accurate with the few 165 grainers that I used for sighting it in. The barrel was red hot.....even the scope and mounts were almost too hot to touch.

I bet your ammo is overly hot sitting in the sunshine too. I always keep my ammo in the shade in covered ammunition boxes. Plus in order to shoot strings of seven shots my firearm needs to be cooled in the shade.

A KS (Kevlar Special) is a rifle produced by the Remington Custom Shop. They are very expensive, light weight, and accurate. They do not have floorplates, and the barrels are slimmer than standard taper. They are for serious hunters.

This is a 24" barreled .30-06 ADL that has been installed (bedded) in a new KS stock made by McMillan. The scope is a Zeiss Conquest and the mounts are Talley LWs. The trigger is set at 2.5lbs.

The ammo was placed there for the photo only, and the rifles were in the shade between 3 shots strings. They never cooled off even a little.

OK got it, but what does the word Faux mean?

My Weatherby Mark V Sporter in 7mm-08 Remington has a very thin and very accurate 24" barrel in a nice dark colored walnut stock. I will someday buy a Bell & Carlson Medalist tan colored composite stock with black spiderweb accents with CNC-machined 6061 T-6 aluminum bedding plate and Pachmayr Decelerator pad for it, which is what my Weatherby Mark V Ultra Lightweight in 338 A-Square wears and it weights 6 lbs without the scope, rings and base.

This 7mm-08 Remington with the new stock will be perfect for my growing daughter with adult 13 1/2" LOP since she is already so tall and have long arms.

I would also like the Bell and Carlson Medalist Alaskan TI style stock for the Remington 700 in 22-250 Remington.

My comments were to Yooper77. I thought there might be some confusion. McMillian suppiled this stock to Remington. They are very stiff and seem like an excellent piece of equipment.

I understand the genuine Remington KS stock and your genuine Remington ADL barreled action is imitation as a combo since you had the larger diameter barrel and had to open up the channel of the stock.

Yes, it was just a few thousandths. I'd like to have the bolt lightened and spiral flutted like the 700Ti bolt but it's over $100.00 to have it done.

My Weatherby Mark V Ultra Lightweight in 338 A-Square has the fluted stainless steel barrel with recessed target crown and one-piece forged bolt features longitudinal flutes to reduce weight and bearing surface. Plus weight was shaved off the back of the bolt and handle as well.

The word "faux" is French for the word false. It has become commonplace in the U.S. when describing finishes, particularly in describing furniture or indoor construction. A "faux wood finish" means a fake wood finish. A "faux distressed finish" means a piece of furniture that is brand new, but has been made to look old by beating up the wood with small dings and scratches and putting layers of uneven varish or paint on it. A "faux brick finish" means a wall in a house where a fake brick wall has been painted on it, including the use of raised textured paint to look like morter.

I now have a Remington 700 Faux SPS in 22-250 Remington since I changed it from a ADL to SPS synthetic stock and hinged floor plate.

I guess after I change the following:

I will have a Remington 700 Faux Alaskan TI in 22-250 Remington with the Bell and Carlson Medalist Alaskan TI style stock.

and

I will have a Weatherby Mark V Faux Ultra Lightweight in 7mm-08 with the Bell and Carlson Medalist Weatherby style stock.

Until the other day I never heard this term and I will probably never use it personally again. I am glad I understand it if I ever encounter it in the future.

I like to spell things out so there is no confusion, but maybe it just me.

I can understand when someone says I shoot a 25-06 or 30-06, but hate it when all I hear is 7mm Mag or 300 Mag.

I would use 25-06 Remington, 30-06 Springfield, 7mm Remington Magnum or 300 Winchester Magnum for example.

Hey yooper77 - If that's what you want to call them, then that's what you have.

Like Faux fur = fake fur (most likely polyester). It's a marketing ploy to make it sound expensive. Who in their right mind would want to pay a lot of money for "fake" fur (except those peta people), but faux fur? Wow! That's French, so it must be fancy schmancy and expensive.
