Difference between burris pistol scopes
« on: January 01, 2004, 06:17:33 PM »
What is the differnce between a Burris 2-7 x pistol scope and a Burris 2.5-7x pistol scope ? The 2.5-7x scope looks longer which would make it weigh more than the 2x-7 scope? Is the 2.5-7x a older scope, if so does it have the same feld of veiw as the newer sopes?
Thanks

I had a 2.5-7 Burris, was a great scope. Haven't had a newer one so I can't compare them for you. Only reason I got rid of it was to get a Bushnell Elite with constant eye relief. I did send an e-mail to Burris asking about the scope and they replied in about 3 days. They probably still have the specs on the scope (I didn't think to ask for them, just wanted to know if the warranty still applied and how old it was). the e-mail link is on their web site.

the new model overall length is 9.7inches the old model is 12inches

The new model FOV is (Feet @ 100yds) is 21-7, the old model is 12-7.5

Eye Relief (Low Power) New Model 11-21inches, old model 11-28

The reason I was asking about difference between a Burris 2-7x pistol scope, and a Burris 2.5-7x pistol scope,is I found a used 2.5-7 for a decent price. But, evidently it doesn't have the feild of veiw of the 2-7x. When I purchase scope I want all the field of I can get. I have a hard time seeing through the dang things as it is. I thank you Doc-And  8) for your effort in dig up that information it really helps.
