Obviously the NEA is what the teachers want, because they are the NEA. Without the teachers and their support of the union, there would be no NEA. Why do teachers feel they need a union to represent them anyway? Is what they bring to the table as individuals not good enough. Or do they feel the lazy, unproductive, and teachers that can't do the job need protected? Or is it to extract all that they can from the tax payers, no matter what kind of product they return? All we hear from the NEA is the problems of education can be fixed with more money and higher teacher salaries. Please someone explain why teachers need to belong to a union. What benifit is there for students, parents, and for tax payers?
XD, sorry there is no comparison between the NEA and the NRA. The NRA does not hold the tax payers hostage and extract large sums of money from them. The NRA is completely voluntary. If you want to make a comparison to the NEA, a socialistic, marxist government would be a better one.
The NEA does not serve the interests of students and parents. Instead they serve the interests of an educational bureaucracy, protecting it from competition and discouraging outside scrutiny.
Our children are the future of America, as past generations are America now. What they are taught, and what they are not taught, will determine what America will become. Our educational foundation has become so mediocre it is threatening the future of our nation. If another nation had imposed the education standard we have in our schools today. We might have viewed it as an act of war. Instead we let it happen to ourselves.
Is it any wonder why so many children (and adults) are ignorant of American history. Its because American history has not just been dumbed down, much of it has been erased. Anymore its all about diversity education, which the NEA aggressively promotes. The new world view of what a school should be, does not include core academics. Its all about indoctrination. Until the teachers that are part of the NEA, and the people, stand up and demand that things be done different. The NEA and government will continue marching us further toward destruction. Of coarse if enough of us don't see any problem with our education system. There is nothing to fix right?
