My email account has been hacked into by someone who's pretending I'm stranded in Scotland and is asking for money. THIS IS A SCAM. I am here at home and OK and can be reached by phone or Private Message. Dom

About a year ago I had a friend who got hacked with the same scam and the message went out to everyone on his email list.

The problem is I can't access my account to warn anyone on on my email contact list. They changed my password info. I posted a warning on my website and here on GBO. Also can't access my facbook account that I never use.

I figured that's what was happening. I got an email the "you" were mugged and needed money. Long run-on sentences are a dead give away. Anyway glad you're fine.

No idea except I think they did it from a foreign country. I fixed the account and made some changes. Dom

Dom Glad to hear you were ok as well. You mention Facebook I've had friends who have had their FB accounts hacked and as their email was attached to their FB account it was hacked as well especially if the passwords are the same.

Got the same message (abet with something other than "some cannon" a month or so ago from a client. We got a pretty good laugh out of it at the office. That said, sorry to hear about your account.

Mine domain has been spoofed a few times, and the hate spam I got back was always fun to clean out (not to mention the domain getting black listed and our outgoing emails being blocked).

Dittles, thanks for the gesture. As they say, a dollar fifty will get you a cup of coffee and some advice.

My email account still has problems and they may still have access to it somehow. I changed the password and accessed it once, then signed out and when I tried to re-enter, it would not allow it.

I almost bit on it. Except for the grammar, and the here to get some cannon stuff. I thought you made your own rather than buying and brokering them? Please start another thread with the title to the effect of; Dom is ok. or; Don't send money to him. Something clearer than the above

They have directions and help there for resetting your password so you can take back your
account.

I'll take another look at it. I changed my email back into my control this morning and now they got it back again.

Maybe there is some kind of spyware on your computer that is relaying your changes to them. If you run windoze, you should look into installing Microsoft Security Extensions.

The last few days that I have logged on to the GBO site this window opens up that I have won a prize and you have like 200 seconds to reply I click close and it keeps coming back has this happend to anybody else? And is this somthing to do with Dom's problem? Please let me know about this guys

Dom, glad to hear you really weren't stranded in Scotland, altho it is a pretty nice place to visit! I had my suspicions, with the language and all, so what better place to check it out than here, on the Forum.......Your Hack Job was bad enough, but when they hacked mine, Porno Pics went out to my e-mail list! Ray, you need to install a good "pop-up" blocker software, and possibly update your anti virus and anti spam software.
