cast bullets?

who shoots cast bullets thru their autos. I was talking to a Smith and wesson tech support guy and he told me it was fine to shoot lead bullets thru the M&P pistols. me question is how many do it and what about switching from cast to copper? the reason I ask is a local guy here has 500 cast 40 cal, 180 grainers for 40 bucks. This short gun stuff is all new to me as I am a long gunner from back a ways.

I have fired plenty of lead  bullet's out of my S&W revolvers and at lower velocites they are fine. If you push them harder they wil lead up the barrel, forcing cone and face of the cylinder. That I don't like abour Lead bullets.  >:(  If you want the best of both Worlds being moderate price plus no mess buy some Rainier Bullets. They are copper flashed with a .0005" copper wash applied to the lead bullet. I have fired Thousands of Rainier's bullets and they leave no mess and are super accurate.  Thanks for the onfo, I spent some time looking at the Rainier bullets and I am going to give them a spin. any load info for their bullets you would like to share?

The Rainier site tells to load to Target velocities and recommends to not exceed 1200 FPS. I have a great Load worked out using their 200 Grain Semi Wad cutter bullets. It consists of 4.0 Grains of Accurate Arms powder with a standard Large pistol primer and medium crimp. Here are the results of six shot's fired out of my S&W .45 Target revolver.
