ishapore (enfield) 7.62x51. Great shape, excellent barrel but disappointed in that it has trouble holding 0.

Last C&R was a CZ82, and a sweet little shooter it is.

Wonder why there are no large spam cans of surplus ammo around for it, though.

A couple of year ago I bought two Springfields from a buddy of mine, but he wouldn't part with his H&R!

Local pawn shop had several with walnut and beech stocks a couple years ago all were the same price, don't know where he got them though.

Got an Mosin M91/30 today at the gunshow. It's a 1938, very nice, 79 bucks. I'm jazzed. Pick up a can of ammo, too - this ought to keep me shooting a while.

I gotta start going to shows in out-of-the-way places. Nothing around here but documented 7th Cavalry Single Actions (don't even ask) or unbelievable POSs for maybe $3 - 350. Once in a while something might walk in, but the show guys have got the tables by the door and they're on it like a hawk on a sparrow.

Victor: Hey, that is a really nice Destroyer Carbine. Mine is nowhere near as nice, in fact, it isn't really nice at all and doesn't shoot worth a dang, but it is fun to play with. I use 9x23mm brass and 38 acp load data - no problems with cycling, just ain't all that pretty....

Yellowtail - nice Mosin. You reported your accuracy tests in another post - not bad, but these rifles often shoot better with the bayonet extended, if your model has one, and respond very, very well to a good bedding job.

1marty: your Ishapore will also respond to a good bedding. I would not bed the barrel any farther out than the end of the chamber area and make certain the action is firmly bedded. You should also bed the rear stock and you should square the end of that stock where it sits against the action and bed that mounting area. It should shoot much better.

My last was actually a returning gun, 7.5x55 Schmidt-Rubin 1911 - circa 1916. Sold it a few years back and got it back in the fall last year. I got it out to the 500m silhouette range where my buddy shoots and was able to hit all the animals including the 500m Ram after 3 tries to get windage good. Ranges were a little off because I was shooting Hornady 165gr. Boat tails and the sights are set up for GP11 with 174gr ball ammo. Still wasn't bad though. I've picked up some Hornady 180gr SP since then and will be testing those out next.

I don't think any of these rifles were all that nice, even when new. Certainly no "mini-Mauser" like I've heard some describe them. I got it because I have an Astra 400 and a pile of Largo ammo I bought for it years ago. The Astra is a high quality gun. The Destroyer, not so much. No other milsurp (or in this case 'police-surp') rifle out there in a pistol round with detachable mag though.

Sorry, I didn't see this post 'til now. My "bubbaed" Eddystone/Enflield has just a "ring" of wood from the top piece, left on the rifle so the band has something to grab.

1943 DOT 8X57 mauser all numbers match and no inport marks battlefield pickup pristene bore no rust and all eagles and markings very plain, wood is great shoots like a dream also have a bayonet that works on it but not matched to it

Just got a WWII era 1996 DCM Winchester M1D garand. It is unfired in the box w/all the accessories. I've been debating about firing it. Probably won't.

I have an 1891 argentine calvary carbine comming soon in 7,65x53. I have a case of ammo here too.

I been on the fence about getting an austrian steyr stutzen in 8mm x 56mm R I have a case of ammo sitting here too.

Picked up an 1884 Trapdoor yesterday, stock was shortened, and it had a hose clamp in place of the stock ring! A few weeks ago, I picked up a very nice little Mosin 91/59.

I picked a CAI Garand and a ROCK-OLA M1 Carbine that had been sporterized at the last Wanenmacher show. The rear sight on the Carbine has been milled off, bummer, quite smoothly. I ended up selling the Garand, wtb a GI, and picked up a military match 30-06 Mauser action rifle. The Mauser has to weigh close to 20lbs with what i am calling an elephant bull barrel, can't wait to shoot it.

My only military purchase thus far, was not really a purchase,
it was given to me, for free!
1891 Argentine Mauser in 7.65x53
it was still packed in cosmoline and looked like it was never shot.
The only bummer was it didnt escape with the crest intact

matching numbers and even had the matching toad sticker on the front

It is a real shooter as well, with open sights, it keeps 3 under a nickle easy(100 yrds) and with cast bullets, I've
had 1.125 groups at a 100 yards

Here's the norinco m14 i just picked up for $371 with some free trade in's i had.

Here's one of my swiss k31's. I kept three swiss k31's, one will be scoped, one will get the st marie doipter peep sights and one will just be orginal.
