RB 454 in 8 3/8"
« on: January 02, 2004, 09:02:32 PM »
Anyone have the RB with the 8 3/8" barrel? I just picked one up around christmas, and I must say it is a very comfortable gun to shoot.. the extra length/weight really calms down the recoil,so much so that I can pop off 5 shots in DA in about 5 seconds and be fairly accurate
Anyone else find this to be the case?

My son has one and the recoil is very mild but we haven't tried to fire
rounds fast in DA. The gun has been 100% so far and is very accurate.

Yup got both .454 Casull and .480 Ruger in the 8-3/8" length. Very comfortable to shoot even with max loads and heavy bullets in both.

WHY???? I can think of no reason I'm likely to ever have to want to do anything of the sort. Never tried it. Can't honestly say I've ever even fired a single shot from mine double action. Doubt I ever will.

Well mostly just to see if I could get off multiple rounds fairly quickly with some accuracy, but also to see how the gun performed under a little stress :D

I've got one, and It has a very good trigger, and the action is very smooth for outtada box performance.

The edges of the Hammer could need smoothing out, other wise it is a well finished peace.

Found a problem with mine... one of the chambers in the cylinder is out of time.  If you put a slite amount of drag on the cylinder, with your finger while cocking slowly, the bolt does not lock before the hammer bottoms out.

If you leave it in that postion, then look down the barrel, its not perfectly lined up with the barrel.  Not good.  It is a hair shy of locking into place.

All the other chambers lock up nicely.

I sent it back, and we'll see how well they do, and how long it takes to fix it....................
