The 5-40 screws I checked are from set # 2454 for T/C Contender, S & W Model 29 and Ruger SBH.  I've had it for many years....

Well, I have probably 40 of H&R/Uncle Mike's, they're all 8-32 that I've seen, never seen one with a smaller screw, we're not talkin about the TC version which is a different part number, the 2456-0 H&R/Uncle Mikes is pretty big, plenty big for the 8-32 screw.  ;)

I got a couple of barrel bands from Numrich gun parts. They don't go all the way around the barrel, but are steel and blued and come in different barrel dia. They also could be used to replace the broken forend studs on the older and also newer H&R's and Handi's. Would have to be inletted into the forearm. Hunman55

Thanks, Cat, but it seems that my hammer spur with its 5-40 screws is an oddity anyway, so I see no need to stock that size.
