Hey, who am I to argue with your judgement? I'll also be just fine with the repro British howitzer; I hope we don't get embroiled in a bidding war. ;)   Thanks for posting this link to some interesting artillery pieces, exlimey.
RIP John. While on vacation July 4th 2013 in northern Wisconsin, he was ATVing with family and pulled ahead of everyone and took off at break-neck speed without a helmet. He lost control.....hit a tree....and the tree won.  He died instantly.

Hey Cannoneer thers a couple of nice pieces there that I,m lusting after! The trouble collecting Cannon is they are dam hard to sneak pass your Wife after she has seen so many of them....dont ask!  I do like the Lyle line throwing cannon but its a bit out of my reach at present.

exlimey,
Believe me when I tell you that I know of what you speak, but if some kind of minor miracle occured and I managed to get that howitzer, I'd definitely take the risk of trying to sneak it past "she who must be deceived." :D

I might be attending this auction in person since it is only an hour away from me. If anyone here is actually going to be bidding on any of the items up for auction and would like me to examine them before the auction for them please PM me.
Dave

Stellar decision, Dom! It's simply my personal opinion, and I know I've said it before, but I think that if a sponsor made a good quality signal/salute gun and offered it at a reasonable price, that they'd have their hands full trying to keep up with the orders they received.

I just delivered a Parrott barbette cannon to someone this morning and he requested a 1890's era naval casemate gun.  I am planning to make it a breechloader bag gun.
