If very dangerous things can be done in science and prohibitions are not erected, there will always be a number of mad scientists..who will DO IT !
That is one of the primary reasons why many people are opposed to experiments be allowed wholesale with human embryos..
If something could be devised that would destroy all life on earth instantly..some mad scientist would build it.

about embryos, I think that the instant an egg is fertilized, God sticks a soul in it.
if scientists want stem cells etc. use umbilical cord blood.

Please forgive me if I'm misreading the subject here, but it was in the news that the UK is convening discussion on the establishment of rules regarding the experimental mixing of human and animal genes. Back when they cloned the sheep, I cringed thinking that, no matter how much they bellowed that it would stop there, you know it was just the beginning. God, help us.

The 'scientists' say.. "nothing to worry about"..by law those embryos must be disposed of withing 14 days.
Rest assured, there is no mad scientist would ever break the law ....not even for "science"..

All that said this reserch has made it possible that diabeties will be cured in the near future . Controls should be in place for sure. But do we turn our backs on all of it ? Are we to enter a new Dark Ages ? Better these things be discussed and guided in the right direction.

I respectly disagree. adult stem cells is all that's necessary, or umbilical cord blood. making things that belong in ripleys believe-it-or-not museum doesn't help a thing. if they have to destroy it in 14 days it becomes a bunch of lab techs having fun, not doing research.

I respect yopur thoughts but I will not be so arrogant as to think I know what they accomplish in 14 days . It was but a short time ago that all stem cell work was taboo.
As far as morals , we teach out youth to be on wealfare and have babbies as a means of support. The moral thing would be to teach them to work. At least these people are trying to help mankind not work it for profit.

my wife has a neice who is a research scientist so arrogance has nothing to do with it. most of her work is in DNA and she's a lot smarter than me so that's where I'm coming from.

I have heard from scientists that the best genetics to help a person is often a culture of their own cells.
As far as embryonic stem cells, researchers say the ulimbical cord produces just as useful material. The drive to play with embryos is only a ploy by the pro-aborts..trying to justify their killing industry.
They may justify it in their own minds...but when they arrive at the great white throne..let them try to explain it to HIM !

ya'll say only certian cells are needed and others are not . I don't profess to know but one must ask if only one type cell was used then how would we / they know what use the other cells would have ?
So do we play with cells until we need glasses then stop ? We are not in the garden we seek knowlege . We do need to respect what we learn and use it correctly but would God allow us to know if we were not suppose to learn ?

Well, I am completely pro-choice..
Where it comes to the abortion question..I believe all those little girls and boys should be allowed to live..at least until they can make THEIR CHOICE as to whether they are to live or die..
