Nice pics   I am going to have to get me a box trap or two. They seem like a real quick and easy way to catch coons. I'll bet they are great around barns and stuff. Did you skin those coons?

Good Luck,
Zach Ellis

How much did ya get for them coons sold whole? What about other prices on furs you have sold? You are just one state above me and I'm curious about fur prices.

Good Luck,

I haven't sold no fur yet. I will sell all mine in February at my state association fur auction. I am expecting prices to be about the same as you are getting. The only furs I have to take right now are coyote, coon, and possum. But I still have a month to take a bigger variety and catch more fur. Good to hear from ya again.  You should post more often. I like talkin to trappers the same age as me. I don't know anyone my age who traps round here.

Good Luck,

Tip for when you set those traps again, Put your lure(or Bait ) in a huge ball of aluminum foil, i got 6 in box traps by doing that this year. goodluck! nice pictures! :-D

illinitrapper,

i was wondering how you dispatch those in the cages like that, do you shoot them with a 22 or do you drown them.  just wondering because it looks like a good way to catch them without accidentally catching one of my girlfriends domestic cats.

I was wondering the same thing mntrapper. If I ever get me a cage trap I believe I will try to make sure that there is water nearby(a pond, river, etc.) and I will just set the cage and the catch in the water completely submerged and drown the animal.

Good Luck,

fishdaddy: Maybe the yotes were caught late in the year. Coyotes here in my area will start rubbing in a week or so heavily. It wouldn't surprise me to catch a rubbed one now. When I start catching rubbed yotes it is time to pull all canine sets. I have no use for worthless fur so just save it for next year.

Good Luck,
Zach Ellis
