Hello from Sandy, Utah. I've been following threads for a long time. Every now and then I have a question, so I signed up. I'm no expert, but have been hunting since I was eight, crowding 59 right now, shooting for "120"! ha. I'm a Preacher who doesn't golf, race cars, or into fishing very much, so I handload/shoot/hunt/play with rifles. I've been married ( to the same woman) going on 38 years now, have 36yr old twin daughters, two great Son In laws (one is a GNY SGT) and the world's greatest grandchildren ( three of them, 2 girls, 1 boy)
I grew up in SE Texas, "the Big Thicket", took me 20 years to get a shot past 90 yards! I have had the great priviledge to hunt several states, South Africa, Namibia, and served for two years as a soldier in the US Army ('71-'73) plus three years in the Texas Nat'l Guard & Reserves. I enjoy reading others experiences, and answering questions if I can. I use humor whenever possible, do not do "counseling" on the web (that's what their Pastor is for!) and do not argue (life's too short, besides, I can wait until we get to Heaven to "prove" I'm right"! ha) God bless, I look forward to reading more of you guys exploits & adventures! Rev Jim Knight.
The pics is of me (the fat guy on the left, and my church VP with some hogs we shot in Castle Dale, Ut last year. he used my 30.06/Nosler 200 partition elk load, and I used a wildcat 22/6mm and 75gr Swift, both head/neck shots, caught them bedded up at 25yds-back to Big Thicket range it seems!)
