Maybe they are now that the Fraud and Death Administration has ordered that all almonds be pasteurized with radiation. I quit eating them after learning about the radiation.

I see a lot of room for budget cutting here. The Fraud and Death Administration sure wasted a lot of money spying on farmers for producing healthy food. What a crime it has become to produce healthy food.

Seems reasonable to me. They need to be careful about how they make health claims. The Quaker Oats people and a number of others have it down to a science: Just say it "may" have positive health benefits. It's all in the wording.

There are lots of studies that show lots of things. After all, graduate students have to do something with their time. It's clear from the letter that FDA did do a proper thing in this case. It's their job to police health claims.

By the way, walnut oil is horribly toxic to some, and is used as a permanent hair remover by others.

Claiming that a single ingredient is a typical marketing tactic for people wishing to promote health claims for their products. There are a lot of outrageous claims out there, and the FDA has a mostly good history of policing them.

End result of this is probably that Diamond will simply re-word their claims and everything will be cool. They have good products of high quality, and they are reputable.

they did NOT have the right to take away my milk. the fda is a communist outfit just like most government agencies. studies have shown that walnuts have health benefits, so let'em copy those studies. I stuff myself with walnuts every Christmas.

Recently the fda decided that even though quinine had been used for a variety of medical purposes for over 100 years that it needed tested. The drug co said NO, we'll just quit making it. Another co picked it up and a script today that used to cost $3-4 a month is now $124 according to our pharmacist. Hope nobody tells them about sassafrass tea. POWDERMAN.
