Boehner.   I'm one of those seniors that imam obama is threatening.  and they try to call us mean spirited.

China becuase they hold alot of our debt. If we defualt they will increase our interest just like a credit card company. Nobody read the fine print. 6-19% interest for irritating them.

I was for Boehner going in and coming out.  Obama reads a good speech, but I think the old magic is wearing a bit thin.  He talked too much, and hiding behind Reagan is simply ridiculous.  He still thinks only he knows what's "fair" and "balanced".

Something else - notice that Boehner was always standing behind his podium, while Obama walked in, said his piece and then turned his back on us and walked out.  Seemed kind of arrogant.  Also, he has a swishy walk.

There is enough blame to go around for the debt, going back generations.  We have now come to the point where it must be dealt with.  If we not only tax the rich, but take 100% of their net worth, it still won't come close to balancing this bill.  We hear about the 14 trillion in real debt, but over the next 20 years, we need in excess of 50 trillion more for "unfunded" mandates.

Bush started a program he couldn't pay for...prescription drugs.  He found a couple wars that aren't paid for.  Obama did away with a couple trillion that is just gone for nothing apparently.

We have a hard road ahead, no matter what they do.  We will default...if not today soon.  We are spending 40% over revenues.  If we try and take that from the rich, we will have to define rich as everyone with income.

Who won what?  Was there a debate?  All I heard was a campaign speech by Obama, too many lies to count in there. Almost felt sorry for him, kind of seemed like a little kid whining and pointing at the opposition party most the time, very unprofessional.   Does he even know the leader of his own party is doing the opposite of what he wants?  hmmmm....maybe his speech was aimed at Ried as well?  He wants more money, he made that plain enough. Boehner had it pretty easy...Obama had already made an ass out of himself.  It's getting to where Obama's ability to speak is not covering up his inability to lead a nation, his lies or politics.  Good speaking skills only take you so far for so long. I'm thinking behind closed doors even the democrats have had enough of this clown too.

I've always thought that liberals might be kinda swishy.  after all, if you condone something, you're willing to do it yourself.

I'd love to see interest rates go over 10%.
99% of all Lawyers give the other 1% a bad name. What I find hilarious about this is they are such an arrogant bunch, that they all think they are in the 1%.

Ben, I'm with you. there is no way to survive this debt without bankruptcy.
a year ago next month we bought a goodly amount of silver. it' has doubled in value.
but we didn't buy it for investment per:se,  we got it to have something to spend when the dollar goes kapoot.

I've been telling folks for 2 years, buy non perishable foods.  Best investment there is.  Without food, money is worthless....

These politicians republicans/Dems, liberal conservative are all a bunch of clowns. Yet we continue to elect these jerks. They've raped the social security system which is now broke and they now want to demolish the whole system. Both sides call it "entitlements". I could have sworne my employer and me have paid into the system all these years and therefore, I AM entitled to it..

each time I go to the store I grab something extra for our stash.  about once a month I grab 1 or 2 bottles of propane.  we have a 1 burner cook stove and a mr. heater.  also walmart has 4 100watt bulbs for $1.24 we'll need those next year.  I saw on another thread today about a company in Idaho that makes bulk stuff that really sounds interesting.  milk, egg, butter, dried veggies, buckets of oatmeal and flour...
