Where do you order your reloading supplies?
« on: July 27, 2011, 04:38:44 PM »
Hey everybody,

I'm getting back into reloading.  I used to order a lot of my stuff from Wideners online, but a lot of the stuff I'm looking at there are out of stock.  Where do you guys order your reloading supplies from?  Where is the best deal after paying shipping?

Thanks for any input

powder valley for powder and at times primers. we order enought that the hazmat becomes cheap and no sales tax. i am in mo. and in columbia every month sometimes 2 or 3 times, so i pickup at midway. natchez a couple of times a year when my friends brother-in-law comes ourway. grafs sometimes.majority of bullets for plinking and varmints sierra, at the side door for seconds. mr. "g"s ffl gets us a 10% discount and on new firearms actual cost because he refuses a profit. we shop for the best deals.

I've been getting most of my supplies from GBO Sponsor Midsouth Shooter's Supply www.midsouthshooterssupply.com almost as long as they've been in business. I know I was ordering from them in the early to mid 80s and still do. They are my primary source for a whole lot more than just reloading supplies.

1. Gunbroker
2. gunshows - primers
3. Cabelas'
4. Mid south
5. Midway
The shipping cost at Midway moved them to the bottom of the list.

Midsouth
The difference between people who do stuff and people who don't do stuff is that the people who do stuff do stuff.

1. Midway-usually always in stock and usually same day shipping.
2. Midsouth-great service but not as varied an inventory as Midway
3. Local shops whenever possible.
4. Widener's though not as much since they closed their retail store-they're local to me.

 1, Midsouth
 2. Midway
I like their service, esp Midsouth, but Midway's on-line catalog is more informative and user friendly.  Sometimes I go to midway catalog for a good description/picture but still order from Midsouth.
Both rate high with me however..

Primarily MidwayUSA but have bought from just about everyone. The shipping cost is really getting me down. Powder & primers I buy locally at Bass Pro, refuse to pay the higher price that online stores charge for shipping. Still paying it at BP but not like buying it online.

I'll also look for deals at gun shows.....

Powder and primers I get locally, usually at Sportsman's Warehouse although I'll occasionally get these items at a gunshow.
I use cast bullets so I typically order those from the manufacturer. I've bought from Moyer's, Friendswood, Missouri, Dardas, and probably one or two others I can't think of at the moment.
Brass is typically once fired from Gunbroker or gunshows. On the rare occasion that i buy factory ammo I always save the brass.

I have found that buying local is most cost effective.  With that said, Cabela's has the best selection and price.
