Disc extreme

I finally got to shoot it after owning it for 2yr. Well i was shooting 100gr. of the 209 with the 250 shockwaves easyglides was not impressed at all also useing win.209 primers had 3 shots where just the primer went off and 2  with about a 1/2 second delay.Well would like to know what sabot and bullet seems to work well in yours and powder charge.I used to have the one that used the orange disc that gun shot lights out still kicking myself in the butt for that.THANKS

 The superglides are too loose fitting. BH209 requires a tight fitting sabot and more pressure seating it on the load. Check your flame channel for carbon build up as well. If that doesn't fix the issue, pick up some Federal 209A or CCI Magnum primers, this should help solve your issue.

RSB i will try the hotter primers.I also ordered some of the black crushed rib harvester sabots .I will also try some lighter charges.

I picked up a slightly used .50 cal DISC Extreme about two months ago.  I installed the Lehigh Gen II breech plug which you can get from Knight now.   A good combination for me was 100 grs BH209, 250 gr SST, Harvester .50/.45 smooth black sabot and bare Win 209 shotshell primers.  The 15th shot fired as well as the 1st one.

My 50 Cal Disc Extremes perfect load is 100gr BH 209 and a barnes 250 gr MZ Expander with CCI mag. 209 primer. I touch holes in the bull at 100 yards. I shot two deer with it last year (one at 40 yds and the other at 90 yds) both pass through, small hole in 4 plus inch hole out. I will never look back. Hope this helps.

The best I have found is 2-50gr. pellets pushing a 245gr. Aerotip.
Have used this load for years.

Something you might try if you are having ignition problems, and I'm sure you have cleaned the flash hole, but try opening the hole up a pit. With a very small drill bit.

I have a knight Disk EX in 45cal but in the 50 I would bump the BH209 to 110gr and use the harvester smooth short black and a 250 or 300gr bullet, thats the ticket in all my 50s.

  Mine has always done much better with 300 grain bullets.  Right now I'm using 90 gr. 777 with a 300 gr. .45 magnum XTP with Harvester crush rib sabots.  This will place three in a row inside the end of a soda pop can at 100 yards.  I've never tried this combo long range, it does quite well out to 150 yards though.
