The grips came out of the parts bin.  While not marked as such, they came to me a while back as CLC spalted maple.

Is the rear a whole sight replacement?

The rear sight is from Hamilton Bowen  http://www.bowenclassicarms.com/parts_store.html.  He offers what he calls a "Rough Country"  and a "Target" rear sight for the Ruger Blackhawk.  This one on this gun is the target version.  The Bowen sight is usually a drop in.  The web site description says that it may require minor fitting.  I've installed around a dozen and had to do a little stoning on one.  The front sight on the blue Blackhawk, unlike the stainless, is not originally retained with a pin.  The original blade had to be removed and a new method of attachment devised.  This one has a slot milled for and a pin installed to retain the patridge blade.  Alan Harton in Houston TX did this one.

One species has evolved into obese cranial fatheads with thin skin in comparison that whines about anything and everything as their shield against their environment. Meus

One sweet Ruger for sure!  In all the gun shows I've been to, NEVER run across a 357 Max Ruger.  I have 2 rechambered Handi's in the Max, might have to make a move on a Ruger chambered in the same.  Seems to perform way out of proportion to it's size in the rifles.  DP

Is that a "Belt Mt." base pin? A few years back I called them and asked if they could make a long one ( for the Max ), but at that time they were not doing it.
If not Belt Mt., could you mention who made it?
Thanks in advance,
Mark

Very nice, by the way. Very nice, indeed !!!!!

Didn't have the gun build so I can't say for sure on the origin of the base pin..  Can say for sure that Belt Mountain has Ruger maximum base pins on their web site today.
