New Truck
« on: August 04, 2011, 07:25:47 AM »
Coming back from Jekyll Island last week I got about a mile from my house and the transmission went out on my Isuzu Axiom.   :(  I can't complain much, it had 150K and was 10 years old.  Never had to do much to it but routine maintenance.  I sure did enjoy not having a car payment...  :-\

Anyway, I ended up buying a 2010 Nissan X-Terra; 19K miles.  Feels big and heavy, drives like a truck and is as plain as a mud fence!  No bells or whistles but It suits me.   :)

I've heard good things about them.  What have y'all heard?

I've got a Nissan Pathfinder, 4wd, that is a 1999-1/2.  I have 142,000 miles on it with no major problems.  Had some sensors go bad.  Doesn't use oil.  Just do routine maintenance, oil changes, transmission fluid changes, etc.  AC still works.  Just going to drive it and see how long it lasts.  On my 3rd set of tires.  I don't go mud riding in it, but have gone through small streams, and some muddy logging roads when hunting.

COOL!   ;D   That's what I like to hear!

Sounds like about the same use mine will get.  Mine's a 2WD and I don't try to make a 4WD out of them!     ;)

A guy I knew at work, who is a perfectionist to the point of being a pain has had two of them, and loves them.  The only reason he has a second one is because his wife wrecked the first with well over 1000,000 miles in it.  If he's happy, they must be good.

Since it is such a plain Jane vehicle I suspect your Missus isn't going to borrow it. ;D ;D

My little brother bought one of these new, and after 6 mos. he grew disgusted with it and got rid of it.  After the semi hit it, it just wasn't up to snuff anymore........ ;D

Nope, however judging by his posts on the Missus'es taste I'd guess she isn't going to ride in it either which could be a good thing. ;D ;D

Oh she'll ride in it.  It passed her passenger side comfort test.   ;D  And she may drive it if I get to dr... uh, tired when we're out somewhere.   ::)

As far as her taste's go, she has the foreign "E" syndrome.  Maserati, Ferrari, Lamborghini...  :-\   I got it also, but mines "no mon-ey in the bank!"   :-[
