And I gave a 15 gun safe away a couple of months back. Tried to sell it, but no one would give more than $50.00. I paid $1700.00 for it a few years ago. So I donated it to the local Catholic School for their annual auction.
Had one guy tell me I was just being too hard nosed on my price. He had started out at $35.00, I slammed the door shut and said no way. He did go up to $50.00 reluctiantly, but refused to go any higher. He did say his girl friend had a bunch of jewelry and that is why he wanted it. I said $500.00 was the lowest I would go, I had nsaid $700.00 in the add on the radio. He laughed said that was too high. Two weeks after I gave it away, I read in the paper about a house being broke into and over $20,000.00 worth of guns and jewelry stolen. Guess who called and wanted to know if I still had the vault for sale. He kept going on and on about how someone had cleaned him out, and stole all his girlfriends jewelry as well. I called him a cheapskate, then told him to go to the auction and bid on it.
