Redding 223 bullet seating die

Can't seem to get my 55 grain Hornady V-MAX bullets to seat deep enough. Have loaded some 55 grainn Sierra Spitzers with no problems even though they had a tad longer OAL than the V-MAX bullets. I use a Hornady OAL guage for proper lengths. Anybody else run into this situation? Am I missing something? HELP!!!!

Different bullets have a different ojive, some are more pointed than others. Due to this some shorter oals loads will not chamber if they have a more rounded nose while the longer more pointed bullets will. It`s very comman.

Get ahold of Redding, and tell them your problem. They make a couple different seating stems for different shape bullets. They might just send you one. gypsyman

I've used a Redding .223 seating die for years to seat hundreds of 55gr and 60gr V-max bullets. I'm interested in what Redding told you or what the problem was. Please report back.
