Does anyone else find it odd that 20 of the men who supposedly killed OBL are now dead?
If this was an attempt to cover up something those involved should face a firing squad.

If you know that 20 of them are dead, how did they each die? In combat? What size group would the 20 be a part of? What would there be to cover up? I am not doubting you or contradicting you but I have not heard of this in any way, good or bad. ear

It's in a post under "Pot Bellied Stove". My immediate hunch was that Taliban got a tip from our Afghan allies and made a special effort.

The headline has been changed. At first it said that 20 of the Seals killed were the ones that got OBL. Now they change it up and say different. Just more Disinformation from the mass media.

More often than not, when things like this happen the first reports that disappear contain more truth than the reports that remain. Conspiracy investigators will spend years digging for the truth. They will find overwhelming evidence to the truth. They will be labeled conspiracy theorist, not the investigators they really are. In the end the truth will be known, but not believed.

Perhaps when Yamamoto was shot down, the Imperial Navy thought it was just a random CAP that showed up at just the right moment 400 miles from their base. Was this helo popped on a Muslim holiday? We killed Yamamoto on Palm Sunday....

Yamamoto may have been capped on Plam Sunday but he set the date.
I dont guess with the helo it matters, either way the date would have been set by a muslim.

Almost every day is something-or-other day. Maybe I'm naive, but I still think Taliban found out Seal Team 6 would be in one of those big slow choppers and decided it was pay-back time.

As for initial media reports being more accurate - well - I've seen a lot in all these years. Sometimes first reports do contain observations later deemed to be too embarrassing to repeat, but sometimes they are wildly inaccurate. I would tend to give "the authorities" the benefit of the doubt in this case.

For what it is worth the news outlets are saying none of the SEALS killed in the crash were involved with the OB mission. Still could have been a revenge attack against SEAL Team 6 in general. Very sad. If the chopper was taken down with a RPG as being reported so far, I would call that a golden BB shot.

Hmmm Doesn't it seem strange that a covert team that no one outside of a very very select few knows the identity of.
A team who's name is an operational name and it does not exist under that name before or since the raid.
But yet 2 unnamed officials told a blabber mouth NEWS (I use that word lightly) network that they were on this particular chopper.
Next we'll have a unknown witness telling about a stinger being launched from the grassy knoll.

The men from SEAL Team 6 are a a bit more specialized and focus more or less on anti terroism. The men that lost there lives were part of that team. There are by best guess 200 SEALs in that team. No real conspiracy here. The Taliban claims to have shot it down but it is also reported as a helicopter crash. This big CH46 is a work horse and can take some damage. The pilots for flying special forces types are required to log over 2000 flight hours to be spec ops deployable. One Stinger type missile could bring it down but only very experienced pilots fly special forces.
If it was shot down it would have to have been the golden BB shot and the pilots were coming in low altitude and couldn't auto rotate.
Really there is no conspiracy Bin Laden really is dead. The men of SEAL Team 6 did their jobs outstanding as usual.

I don't believe that the Seal Team 6 members killed were on the OSBL raid, and believe that when the name Seal Team 6 showed up, the News media jumped on it. What I do question however, is why such a large number of elite fighting men were on ONE large slow flying, helicopter in a combat zone? This makes no sense to me at all. In this one factor, I find suspiciously odd, and or, budget cuts, have reduced us to moving such teams in such a way.
Obama and the rest, should be ashamed of themselves for continuing this mess in both Iraq, and Afghanistan, when their hearts are not into winning.

It makes me very sad to hear of the loss of these sons of America. How many American homes will be filled with grief. How many lives would have been made better had they lived?

As this incident "unfolds", more information comes in. Now we know that they were on a "hurry up we need help" mission, and that they indeed were not part of the OBL raid. It is not as big a mystery as some thought, nor was it a "dark plot" to get even. Afgans are ALREADY KNOWN to enjoy shooting Americans.
It is a sad loss, but no more so, than ANY AMERICAN SOLDIER's death.

It's a war; I don't know if they enjoy it or not, but they're doing what you'd expect folks who've been invaded to do (other than surrender).

There are probably many reasons why we are in Afghanistan and Iraq, and spreading (BS) Democracy isn't one of them. Those tribal people have been fighting among themselves forever and will continue to do so long after the invading forces have left.

Bring our sons and daughter's home and let those people live they way they want.
And while we're at it.........Send the ones that are here back to live among their relatives.

Let them spread Democracy to their brothers and sisters.

We spread democracy to Europe and Japan after WWII, but they were totaly defeated enemies. They had no choice but to learn. Japan was/is the only Far East country we have ever totally defeated and it took atomic bombs to do that. Also, you can't defeat religious fanatics. Maybe with a few a-bombs on their country might wake them up and stop the insanity.

It was a lucky shot . The guy was testing his guns before making an approach. Two planes were to come around and attack as his plane was landing while he was to come in from the side as back up. When he test fired some struck the plane . They would have gotten him anyway .

From a source, these were not the guys on the OBL mission. Many of them left behind wives and children, and a few pregnant wives. The SEAL community is Devastated over this right now.
