Chancellorsville Battlefield in Virginia
« on: August 07, 2011, 06:53:30 AM »
I was at Chancellorsville Battlefield in Virginia yesterday and took photos of where Union (Fairview)  and Confederate (Hazel Grove ) cannon forces faced off against each other at about 1,200 yards.
I wore Confederate Gray back in the day

It would be interesting to have a series of pix of the artillery from ALL the battlefields.

We probably already have it.  Someone needs to pull it all together from the archives.

Here is a series of pages showing pix taken on a business trip to Atlanta in May of 2007:

You saved me a bunch of picture taking and did a better job then I would have to boot!   ;D  I live in Keenness a couple of miles from the MN., and every time we drive by there I say to my wife "I forgot my camera...again!"  Those guns remind me of you guys and I've long wanted to show them to you!   ;)

As an aside, years ago and friend, long dead now, and I charged up the hill shown in the last picture on page 9; on our horses.  It was quite a run for the animals and it seemed like it took forever to get from the tree line to where the breastworks would have been.  I can't imagine what it would have been like for Infantry...  :-\
