To me your question depends on what is intended for. Yes the 460 is flatter shooting then the 500 with it's 200gr evo vs the 300gr evo, BUT there is only 1/10 of a inch differense between the two trajectorys all the way out and the 500 is packing a heck of alot more energy. To me everyone asked what i would reccomend to someoen that wants a big bore revolver I do suggest the 460(for it's versatility only) but for me I will take the 500 only because I don't download mine. Another reason is I have sht alot of 500's and alot of different 460s and I seem to always get tighter groups the 500's. ( I don't know I guess I just don't have much faith in gain twist rifling). Aother thing is if your handgunning for deer ther really aint' any difference between a 45 colt 44mag 500 or 460 out to 100 yards beyond that the 500 and 460 have a advantage. It your in beear country take the bigger bullet.
