Everytime I see your handle I have to chuckle.........up here longwinters are a fact of life and it reminds me when I see it

Hornady is my favorite bullet company simply because their V-Maxes shoot like benchrest bullets in my 12 BVSS varmint/target gun and really have to be seen to believed when they hit a crow. Their SST's appear to be the bullet for my ML'ers at this point, and the new SST Inner-Bonds blend accuracy and bonded integrity so well that my love affair with Nosler paritions that were never that accurate anyway is over.

I've used Swift - Nosler - and Hornady the most and right now Hornady appears to be the ticket in my guns.

If only one, would have to be Hornady, they cater to so many more shooters than other brands.  I like them all, but Hornady always goes the extra mile.

I have to go with Hornady too.  I already use their 158 gr XTPs for .357 Magnum "field loads" and plan to use the new interbond when I get my 06 Encore.  The prices are pretty respectable for bullets of decent quality.

Have to agree, Hornady all the way. When it comes to quality game loads, they have everything I want at modest prices. I shoot a lot of Sierra for target and general plinking. quite a bit of Speer in cast bullets for handguns. I like some of the quality bullets available like Trophy Bonded Bear Claws from Speer, Federal has them available in their Premium ammo line, but when you start paying over $1 per bullet alone, that's a little much for me. So, Hornady, without a doubt.

If I had to pick only one, it would be the one I used the least, Nosler.  Absolute reliability.

Hornady is by far the best value in my book with a more suitable assortment than most of the others for my style of loading and shooting.  Only problem is I have 2 rifles and 1 pistol that are only at their best with Sierras.  I use more red boxes than anything else though.

Well that would have to be ME.  I would have to get a lot more molds though.   But, realistically speaking....I would also say Hornady .  I think they have the widest selection and fair prices, certainly enough to meet all my needs.  I also use Speer, Sierra, Nosler etc....for hunting, but the Hornadys will do the job well.

What I use the most of is Remington and Winchesters, over 50 years these are what have taken most of my deer with as well as general shooting.  I buy them in the bulk and know where they shoot from my guns.  Are their better bullets, yes I think so, do I give up some in accuracy, yes I think so.  But for the price they are difficult to beat.

Sierra has a wide selection of projectiles, but if its of any worth to anyone, their customer service is about the best I've had the pleasure of dealing with!  That sure keeps me shooting their products.

I know what you mean Longwinters! I have a box of 250 V-Max 55gns and they have never been opened! I sure as hell will open them now. I mainly used Nosler but just did'nt get around to comparing the Horady's with the Nosler's. I will now

I've used Nosler, Hornady, Barnes, Sierra and Speer, but if I had to pick just one it would probably be Speer for the hunting that I do.  I load more Speer's than anything else and have always been happy with them.  I love their Hot Core bullets since they seem to hold together quite well for an inexpensive cup style bullet.

Speer, with Remington a close second choice.

The Hornady & Sierra's are great. Bullets in general are ALOT better than they used to be according to my favorite shooting editor.

I think selection might be more important than manufacture, especially for handgun loading. For instance...I recieved a new Ruger Vaquero SS in .45 colt this Christmas. The Sierra HC #8800, a 185gr jacketed looked great for general use but I found that this is a .451 diameter bullet. This was something that was NOT LISTED in my reloading manual.
I chose the 200gr Hornady .452 diameter instead as even the reloading manual said the .45 case might have trouble latching on to a .451 bullet.

I will start reloading with these 200gr Hornady's but might find that the gun prefers a 240gr Sierra, A Nosler, a Speer, and on & on.

OOPS!! Sorry to have jumped to to dem very short rifled guns.

I use the Hornady #2267 a 55gr fmjbt outa the .22-250 for coyotes and get honest 1" five shot groups @ 100yds.

Also use Sierra #1320 a 55gr bthp for groundhogs and the like and have shot groups as tight as .460 with them.

Am pretty happy with this since the writers say ya cant shoot good groups throwing a sandbag on the truck hood (which I do).

For me, it's an even split between Sierra and Hornady.  Sierras usually give me the best accuracy in my bolt actions, with Hornady taking the lead for my Marlin 30-30.

While Sierra has excellent customer service that is way above Hornady, Hornady does put out the SST - one of the best rounds I've ever shot.

FYI - Once I get my traditional muzzleloader finished, I'm going to give the Hornady 50 cal.  round balls a try.

I'm with the guys who've never used Hornady, except the XTP-MAG in my .454 Casull at GB's advice.  Noslers run through all my rifles like magic, until I see good reason to change, that's the way it will be, although the V-Max varmint bullets look pretty good, but the BT's have me hooked!

Aside from the home-cast projectiles, I'd pick Hornady also.  Their 55 grain V-Max will do under 0.25" out of the Tikka 22-250, and their XTP's kill like none other.

I've enjoyed this thread for some unknown reason, it's been fun, BUT, I'm curious as to how many of you Hornady-Hold-Outs would jump ship if the same question were asked another way.

Your mother-in-law just passed away (bless her black heart) and left in her will for you:  1 round trip ticket to Alaska, 1 weeks lodging at the finest lodge on the Kodiak Island, 1 week guide service, liscense and permit for 1 Kodiak Bear.  Now, what bullet are you going to put in your chamber?
