I have read a lot of posts regarding trigger work. I have two encores that I intend to lighten the trigger pull. I would like to measure the before and after trigger pull. I was wondering what everybody is using to measure the pull? Do I need to make another investment or is there a cheap way to do this?
Thanks for any help.

GM84,
Triggerpull gauges can be had for $20 -$30. Hardly a big investment.

I'd check first with local gunshops. If they don't have them, no reason they can't order. Otherwise Brownells has several models available.
Their order # is 515-623-4000

I use the RCBS primium trigger pull scale, purchased it when it was on sale at Midway. Not a big investment, but does go to greater range than the standard model.

I use the Lyman Digital and have had good luck with it. Cost about $40.

So, once you know the trigger pull weight, how do you adjust?
