Just picked up a Super 14 for the Contender before Christmas.  Topped it with a TC 2.5X7 scope and testing with factory Winchester 45GR Varmint loads, 40 rounds for $12 @ Walmart gives me 1" groups @ 100yds.  It was stated here that the heavier, longer .22 cal. bullets might not stabilize at pistol velocities.  I have not tried anything heavier yet.

The Super 14" barrels are the shortest that I have, so can not speak to the usefulness of a 12", but expect that it would be fine.

Good Luck,  Rol

I just bought a 22-250 bull in 15".  I have not shot it yet.  I will let you know how it works.  Hopefully I will take a few yotes here in central Maine.

I've had one for about 8 months now and love it; started off with a scope, went back to the factory sights. Just Saturday, I consistently hit a 12" circular steel plate @ 200m (standing, modified weaver) with el cheapo UMC ammo. I'm sure with optics, rest and good ammo, your results will be better. I figure that'd be alright on varmints, no matter how many legs they have
