Ill-informed citizen, presumably, and a woman beside, who doesn't shoot but she's at least pro gun.  I was surprised she even had an opinion.

The "stationary" concept only applies to long guns.

I will leave my rifle case at home this deer hunting season, since it is no longer needed. I will just step out of the truck and snap in a clip, so convenient. The hand gun will already be loaded and will stay loaded. This will make for a very different season, as compared to the past. I like it, very much.

Last month your handgun had to be cased and unloaded, this month it can be loaded and uncased......but don't accidentally throw your jacket over it.

The vote in the US House STILL has to pass through the Senate and THEN it has to be signed by the President. So before we get all goody we need to keep pressure on the Senate to get the Law passed with such a margin even the President will have a hard time veto'ing it and I don't doubt he won't. But then I'm an optimist for believing it would get this far!

Myron...45 days for the early applicants, then 21 days after December (I think).

Shinjin....The federal government doesn't have jurisdiction in this matter.   Don't know if that makes any difference to them, but it does to me.

Decisions like this are the right of individual states.  Personally, I would prefer that the feds butt out.  I don't need the feds involved any more than they are.  I realize I might feel differently if I lived in the east coast "cluster".

well mine shouldnt be far behind....one would think.   although i will fully admit, i expect a hassle on it; as the government always seems to want to make things difficult for me for some unknown reason.   i hope i am wrong this time.

Thanks jcn 59. The hunt is going slow for me, no deer yet, but I have all muzzleloader season yet and I very much enjoy getting out. It took exactly 20 days from mailing the application to receiving the permit. Be patient Myronman, its on the way.
