You want to use a cheap air rifle to take out skunks in your yard?Your neighbors will love you. Can't speak for pellets but this works with 22lr.Shoot high ...top of his back...behind the shoulder. If you miss...miss high....nobody's hurt and nobody smells.Break his spine and he's down ans paralyzed below the shot...no stink. He will leak slightly as he dies but its no worse than one run over up the road.

careful, some skunks are federally protected (Spotted Skunks), and the harvest is regulated by most state wildlife departments of the other types.  Make it hard on them (non-lethal) and they will move on.  They are most likely after the grubs in your lawn, eliminate the grubs and the skunks will leave.

Or you could do as my neighbor kid did. He set up a Have-a-Heart trap on his front lawn and caught himself a great big old unhappy skunk.  ;D
It was 82*F and all the windows in the house were open. I had to postpone my daily walk down the road for about a week.

A refurbed Crosman Titan .22 can be had for under a c-note and would do fine. ;)
