Buffalo Bill Historical Center, Cody, Wyoming

We are in Cody, WY today.  We visited the Buffalo Bill Historical Center.  Double WoW!  They have a big gun exhibit with many nice long guns and hand guns from early times to the present.  They also have a Western Art section, and a Plains Indian section.  The entry fee is good for two days.  We are going back tomorrow.  It's that big.  We are recently retired and are spending a month going through the West. Next week we start five days in Yellowstone.  I think I'm going to like retirement a lot.

The Winchester Arms Museum was there also in 1978, when I was there. Amazing place, well worth seeing. Does it still have those two giant Bisons with shoulder heigth above my head, just inside the front door?

The best part of the museum I think was the crossbow from the 1600's.

Yellowstone is pretty but you might as well go to disneyland. Lots of morons, tour buses and traffic jams!

  I did 15 states from here to the Dakota's before turning back
40 plus days ,The best 40 I had in as many years.
 I left Fl. never picked up a map till Colorado saw and learned a lot
In my life I had never passed east of the Mississippi on 4 wheels or 6 ;D
 I had flown a few places and lived inTexass for a short time
I can life in Dead Wood no doubt, anyway this is your time
enjoy it. The USA is a great place full of beautiful Places and things
too see,Good People in the camp grounds,We met many,many offered
sights to see Off the beaten path,America the Beautiful
 Don't know where you come from but, a few place's out there will let
you shoot,and some have Pdogs and yotes that need spanking
 I really saw (like the song) where the Deer and antelope play
Stay safe Enjoy the good Ole USA

Yellowstone is a must see,but make sure to  head south to the Tetons,one of the prettiest places in the world.

     Forestclimber I made that trip last year in June, was gone in the Motorhome for over 3 weeks, take your time and really enjoy the sights, watch the crouds in Yellowstone as they wont be watching for you, never seen so many people just stop to take photoes while in the road in my life, enjoy the trip.   Jim

While you're in that area, drive on down to Pinedale and visit the mountain man museum.  That whole drive through the Wind River Range is worth the trip.

that cody wyoming firearms museum is a must see spent over 4 hours in there going to go back again.
