I must agree with that statement, and put me down for a 38-55

25 Krag is getting my attention...standard chambering with a 30* shoulder.

7x57 would rock!  I'd like to see iron sights available on more models personally also.  They have deleted sights on a lot of the rifles and IMO it should come with sights to be removed as desired.  ;)  Another thing would be a std. taper 45 LC.  - not .410 & .45 LC with real sights.  Finally, I think they should make more Versa-Pack .22LR rimfires & make some in .17 possibly too.  ;)

I've got two re-chambers, a Maxi and a .445.  I got a very nicely stubbed 32-20 which I call my "poor man's .22 Mag".  I can reload it for pennies and push a 100 gr. bullet anywhere I want between 700 and 2200 fps.  It's a very Handi, quiet, and versatile little rifle.  I'd like to have a .25-20, .25-30 and an even a .44-40 for old times sake.  I gotta be careful though, she's catching on to these breeding Handis.

Although it's not a true custom, and thanks to quickdtoo, Tim, my 18 inch .38-55 will be my primary deer rifle this season.  I'm working with ballistics tables and loading and shooting to match them for shots to 300 yards.  I've made kills here anywhere between ten feet and well over 300 yards, so it's imperative to know how to use the rifle you're toting.

So instead of $125 for a barrel, $350 to have it rebored and rechambered, could we get a "true custom" barrel for $475?
That should be a good business for your DV friend.

If you mean they are the same cartridge by a different name, your incorrect.  The 7x57Mauser and the .275 Rigby (British name for the 7x57) are the same cartridge.
If you are talking performance, your correct, the .257 Roberts is a basically a cut down, necked down version of the 7x57mm, similar to the relationship between the .30-06 and .308.
Count me as another vote for the 7x57.

My quandary, I personally, don't think I have enough Handi's but, I know I have more Handi's than I really need or should have.

Having had both, I cant agree about that performance statement. Different bullet dia.s and weights, with the advantage well to the 7MM. The Bob is topped out at about 120gr.ers; maybe the 7MM at 120 (I never loaded the 7 below about 140)gr. would be similar but after that ..........no contest.
