Penn Foster?
« on: August 13, 2011, 02:47:32 PM »
I have had the pleasure of building and modifying several guns recently. I was thinking of enrolling into a program to learn more. I was curious if anyone has any experience with Penn Foster and their gunsmithing program

Also any other schools that operate through the mail or online that you might know of would be helpful.  I can't move and don't intend to.  Just want to learn more. Thanks.

Penn Foster helped me learn alot but in my opinion is way too expensive for what it is. You can learn just as much by surfing the internet. Only plus is you get to keep the books and don't have to worry about a website closing down or computer crash when you need to look something up. Hope this helps.

I did complete the course from Penn Foster. I found it very helpfull. It is especially helpfull if you are into the Gunsmithing buisness. I also love all the extra stuff they send you such as tools, nra assembly, guids, gun values books, and many learning aids in addition as well. But yes it is expensive its about 700 bucks or so it takes about 6-10 months to complete (you have a year to complete it ) But it is a nationally accredited Organization that issues you Gunsmith Diploma. Hope this Helps ...
