The Hornady 175 gr RNSP duplicates the profile of the original 175 gr FMJ and has the longest bearing surface I know of in 7mm.
One thing I have found fooling with these old military rifles that have looooooooog throats is to use a Lee Factory Crimp Die on your loads. It makes them shoot much more accurately. My theory is that the crimp holds the bullet in the case for that nano second it takes to build the pressure up good on the burn much as the bullet being loaded close to the lands will retard the bullet when it hits the lands before the base leaves the case. All I know is that in numerous rifles with long throats I load to magazine length and use the Lee Factory Crimp Die and they shoot more accurately than the same bullet without using the crimp.
