English 32 pounder

I helped fellow forum member "carmy53" with a wooden display gun.  I used the English 32 pounder out of "Ram Shot And Rammers" as my pattern.  At 36" long, it is about 1/3 scale.  I added the dolphins because I like them. ;D
Here are a few progress pictures.

As the proud new owner of this cannon, I have to say Zulu did a fantastic job on it.
I think it is a work of art and have a spot reserved for it in my dining room.

RIP John. While on vacation July 4th 2013 in northern Wisconsin, he was ATVing with family and pulled ahead of everyone and took off at break-neck speed without a helmet. He lost control.....hit a tree....and the tree won.  He died instantly.

The stain is a "Minwax" Bombay Mahogany.  It comes mixed with a polyurethene and leaves a nice finish after several coats.  The pictures don't look as nice as the real thing.  It looks really "rich".

blank of corse!......looks like a nice shop to work in.....*sigh* someday maybe if i'm REAL good the wood fairys will leave me a shop like that overnight!

real nice work!...and ~ do you glue a bunch of planks together to make the barrel?

This barrel started out as a 6" X 6" cedar timber.
My shop is small.  12' X 24'. :P  But it is well equipped.  I'm space poor and equipment rich. ???
