Got a prerecorded phone call

Sounded like some dude wanting me to join the NRA. His pitch was that the US gov't was working to take our guns away through the UN. This sounds like BS and a scare tatic to get more members. I say Wayne Lapiere eat my shorts. Anyone else get similar calls?

Yes I have gotten them before and yes they are using it as a scare tactic to get you to join.
The thing is that there is some truth to what they say.
There are provisions for disarmament contained within the UN agreement if it were to pass as stands.
Don't really think it will go through but if it does, keep plenty of ammo on hand!

It is legit as far as it goes.  If the treaty were to be ratified, we would by law have to follow the UN's dictates on small arms.
 
So far, they don't have nearly enough support to pass it, but with the current climate in DC, I would'nt be surprised at anything.

This end run on American rights is spear headed by Canada and Japan. To be law in the land congress has to pass it and that could be a place most congressmen care not go . Lets make sure they understand.

The President would have to sign it and the Senate would have to ratify it. I don't think any politician wants that on their record. That kind of decision would be made VERY public. And the enforcement would make alcohol prohibition a cake walk in comparison. I mean, really. You would need an entire brigade of soldiers to kick down the doors of elderly folks to strip them of their nightstand gun, their only means of defending themselves, to even begin enforcment. Sad part is the UN is a joke and the media makes them sound like the world can't survive without them.

BTW I do know they have different laws . FYI Canada has taken several steps to be more like Japan. Thank goodness that may stop with the new leadership they have.
 So what was your point ? FYI Both Govts. at the time this started several years or more ago  wanted to restrict gun movement and ownership. You can check on who brought it before the UN for consideration Japan and Canada co sponsered it If I remember correctly.

Any armed foreign troops, enforcing unConstitutional tyranny and oppression will be treated like the armed invaders they are. Got to be a reason why veterans were included on the terrorist list by the dept of homeland security ( dept of homeland tyranny is more like it), you know, guys and gals who swore to defend the Constitution against all aggressors. I don't think I have been sleeping for the entire 40 years I have lived in Canada. Yes, we have had some restrictions over the year, notably the firearms license for the individual and the registration. It came about when a demented frenchman shot a number of students in Quebec during a Liberal Admin.

I presume the sponsorsdhip in the UN was also done during a Liberal Admin.

There will be a bill introduced this fall to cancel the long arm registry.
As as as I know there is little if any civilian ownership of firearms in Japan.
