samco global SKS
« on: August 16, 2011, 05:34:28 PM »
I have a SKS Yugo with the grenade launcher and  I've been looking for another SKS without the grenade launcher. The Russian, Romanian ones on gun broker are going at crazy prices. I noticed Samco has Yugo SKS which were manufactured without a grenade launcher. Has anyone had any experience with this company? They rate the firearm as very good.

The yugo m59 doesn't have the gernade launcher.  Samco has been very good with me so far even when we had little problems they fixed it right away. Like a rear site missing on my swede mauser.  I have never had a problem with there sks's so far.  I have most of there yugo's and there unissued yugo's are brand new.  I wouldn't hesitate to purchase again from samco.

Before the flood of yugo sks's arrived the prices on the russian and chinese sks's were soaring up to $450 to $500 on the russian sks and the chinese norinco wasn't too far behind the russian price wise.  Then the prices bottomed out with the flood of yugo's ever since.  But now with the yugo sks's finally drying up as we speak the prices on the other sks's are starting to soar.  The cost of the yugo sks lately aren't so cheap so there bumping up all the other sks prices too.  I been warning everyone to get what you want sks wise now before they hit $750 to $1,000 its comming soon as soon as the yugo sks's disappear for good.

I remember when they first started selling these things here in MS.  I went to a gun show and they had crates of them in cosmoline and they were selling for $69 a piece.  I bought one, scoped it and have since killed 50 or 60 deer with it.  It was worth the $69 I paid for it for sure.  Since then, I've fired probably over 1000 rnds through it.  I've got the trigger unbelievably smooth and crisp.  Working with handloads, I've actually shot a couple of groups with it that were under 2" at 200 yards.  Could probaly win a few bets with it if I wanted. Now with that said, there is no way in xxxx that I would even ponder the idea of paying $450 for one of these, much less $750.  If someone offered me $400 for mine, I would let her go and probably have some guilt, but not for long.  I think that there are many gun owners in this country exhibiting a level of Schizophrenia. We are definately our worst enemy when it comes to gun prices. >:(

I bought a 96 Swede barreled action once from Samco. It took a month and a few phone calls to finely get it. When it came I found that someone had tightened the front action screw so tight that it bent the trigger guard box magazine front up against the action and broke the action screw off flush with the hole in the action. I had to drill  the piece out of the action hole. I called Samco to explain the problem. It was VERY hard to understand the foreign accent and broken English of the person I talked to but I finely got her to understand what the problem was. After a couple more phone calls I finely got a new front action screw about two and a half weeks latter. IT WAS BENT AND HAD BEEN CROSS THREADED AT ONE TIME. >:( >:( Back to the phone and as politely as I could explained how VERY UPSET I WAS AT THEIR SERVICE. I ask for a NEW front action screw to be shipped THAT DAY. In about 5 days I received two each NEW front and rear actions screws. I decided not to bother ordering anything else from Samco.

some friends of mine told me they had waited over a month to get their firearm. Bought the SKS yugo (no grenade launcher) on line through Aim Surplus. The barrel was brand new with a new stock. The gun was in super A1 condition. Took it to the range and the groups were tight out to 100 yards with the russian Brown Bear. Cost about the same for a used Yugo on Samco.
