I've got a 9yr old niece that likes to help with shotgun shells but get bored with anything else.

Kids attention span is so short these days it is hard to teach them anything. Throw out the TV, Computer and hand held video games and MP3 players for a couple of months and they will be glad to learn reloading and shooting to have something to do with their time. ;D

mine want to but can't find the time . They shoot my reloads and like them. So now if they want reloads they bring the componets and I do the work and we split the ammo up 50/50 . One son has all the equipment -for several years - and has not set it up.
If ya can see it ya can hit it !

I was just starting to load about 100 or so .357 mags the other day.  All the brass was clean and primed already.  Powder drop calibrated etc.  My 12 year old asked if she could try it.  So I showed her how to do it.  I explained that you should weigh the charge periodically to make sure it's good etc.  She did great and ended up loading about 90 of them all by herself.  I bet she weighed the charge about 20 times.  ;D   She keeps asking when she can do more.

I think it's good that they know your doing it and maybe try their hand at it.

But it's a hobby after all and not everyone is interested in the same stuff. Folks go through different phases in their life and some are just busy with other stuff.
I've always known of loading and had the interest, but time and money and,, well just life,, kinda got in the way for a long time.

My son has the equipment to reload pistol ammo. If he wants ammo, he has to buy it or reload it himself. If he wants to shoot bad enough, he'll find time to reload.

No problem here!  As a matter of fact, it's hard to keep the little buggers out of my way!  ;D My son also loves to load 38's on the old Dillon 450.

But it's a hobby after all and not everyone is interested in the same stuff.

That pretty much sums it up for me also Necchi.

My son grew up helping and now seldom does it, but has a good understanding of the process and could pick it back up.
I bought my son in law a complete set-up that has set on the shelf now for 5 years.

Some of my G'kids do it, but others could care less.

I've taught untold dozens how to reload over the years.
I susupect lots of them don't reload anymore either.

I know when a ammo crisis pops up again some will come back and others will want to learn.
