Security-Six serial number??
« on: August 17, 2011, 08:14:53 AM »
I have an older Ruger Security-Six revolver. I am making an inventory of my collection for insurance purposes and for the sake of me I can not find the serial number. Does anyone know where it is supposed to be hidden?

The serial number on mine is on the bottom of the grip frame - you have to take the grips off to see it.

Mine is concealed also...

The grip has to be removed...

I do have and "after-factory" grip and it has a "window" at the bottom to see the serial number...

I wonder what year?  I do know mine is of the 1st couple of years...

Thanks...BCB

I picked up one about a year ago. The grips were Ruger factory but over sized . To be honest at a glance it looked like a S&W  . It came with the box and a standard set of grips. The box had fat boy printed on it .
