Taurus ##%%^^&#$ Customer Service
« on: August 17, 2011, 04:14:00 PM »
Once upon a time (June) I had to send a Taurus Tracker back to the factory.  I called Taurus Customer Service and was told what I needed to do.  They would not give me Taurus' FedEx number and I was told that FedEx would supply the number when I put "third party billing" and put "Taurus" in the FedEx form block.  Gun sent and back very soon.  BUT, I get a bill from FedEx for $94.  I call Taurus and I am told to fax them the bill and they would take care of it.  OK, faxed bill.  In August I get a late notice from FedEx for the $94 dollars.  Obviously Taurus didn't pay the bill.  I called again and faxed the bill again.  A week later, I get a collection agency notice for the $94 from FedEx.  Now I'm at a boiling point.  I call and speak with a supervisor who apologizes and I fax the collection agency bill to him today.  I hope this time they get it paid.  I don't know what this collection agency letter has done to my credit but I'll try to find out later.

In the mean time, DO NOT BUY TAURUS !!!!!!!!!!!!!  Their $%%##$%^ customer service sucks.

If you've read much on this forum you should not be surprised. We've been telling the tale of woe of Taurus' horrible customer service for years. I see nothing has changed. Pay the bill and chalk it up to experience Taurus will never pay it.

I find in interesting to note such differences in dealing with Taurus. In Feb. 2011 my son bought a used pt140 from an individual. After 1200 rounds the firing pin spring broke. Rather than deal with shipping himself he went to Gander Mountain for return to Taurus. He shipped it out on a Sat. and got a call from GM the following Fri that his pistol was back. I too bought a used pt140. It began to drop magazines on occasion, during rapid fire. I too went to GM for return. It was shipped to Taurus and returned 9 days later. I had the protection plan so it didn't cost me anything, no shipping cost or anything. I wonder if the difference is Taurus dealing with a "big chain" vs "common joe", does the person recieving the package have an "additude" or karma, or what? beats me!

At least they offered to pay it, Henry is the only company I've ever had pay to ship a gun back to them.

Like GB says, this is an old song about Taurus CS.   :(   One the other hand I have heard several people say that if you send them the weapon the service is acceptable.

Although I like my revolver very much, I for one will never deal with them again.

I only called Taurus one time, back in 2002. The person answered the phone, "Hello", like it was a teenager answering an unknown call on parent's phone. It all went down hill from there. My question was about a Taurus Model 80. They couldn't remember making a Model 80. They needed to check and get back with me.

I ended up having to pay the FedEx charges of $95 because the jerks at Taurus customer service didn't know how to make the payment to FedEx.  The CEO of Taurus, Bob Morrison, will get a nasty-gram from me as soon as I get a receipt from FedEx.  I love a good fight at anytime, not just in the morning !!!!!

BTW, I put ALL my Taurus revolvers and pistols (8) on consignment at my LGS.
