  Right you are Scatter ! My mistake, I was thinking of Taipei, Taiwan. Actually, I was a trifle skeptical of anyone in Taiwan being advised to buy a gun..not sure of their laws.
   Other than the snake (a nasty little bugger), I find no place called Taipan..help me out..  In any case, buying a gun if you don't have one, is good advice.
