44 mag velocity

Does anyone know what the velocity for a Rem/UMC 180 gr jsp will be out of a 20 inch barrel?

Don't know for sure, but I am going to guess at least 1900fps, or more.  It is one of the hotter factory loads out there,  at 1610fps., compared to your typical 240grn at 1200fps load.  Huge muzzle flash with this load indicates a slow powder, which should do well in a longer barrel.

Since you get ca 1800 fps from a standard 240 gr load in a rifle barrel I wouldn't be surprised if you get 2000+ fps from the 180 gr bullet. I suspect that could be explosive on a larger animal if used for it.
