Refinished the Pardner
« on: August 22, 2011, 03:10:50 PM »
It was looking a little used, maybe slightly abused. It had a few scratches and dings, like a good "working gun" should. I found some textured paint that looked fitting at Walmart and I had a used 870 recoil pad (split the laminate stock, have a new synthetic on order  >:( ). I sanded the stock to match the 870 pad, 3 coats of gray primer, 4 lights coats of textured paint, and 6 coats of matte clear. I think it turned out pretty well, the color looks "off" a bit.

25 1/5" 20 ga Modified barrel on, I also have the original 410 full barrel, it gets the most use.
Here's the paint http://rustoleum.com/cbgproduct.asp?pid=31 It's the Deep Forest color.

Looks good to me. I have a topper with an O.D. painted  stock that's one of my favorites.
PROUD REDNECK CONSERVATIVE

I'd much rather be remembered for being a great shot than having the most expensive gun
