35 Remington bullet
« on: August 23, 2011, 11:08:37 AM »
Veral,
I would like to order an LBT mold for my 35 Remington. What nose style do you recommend to shoot a 210 grainer at approx. 2000 fps, cast from W-W and dropped in water? This rifle seems to have a short throat like other Marlins so I was wondering if a LCFN is normally used.
Thanks.
Brad

Slug the gun to be sure of diameters and throat, send the slug to me and let me decide what will fit.  Most likely the LFN will be best, cut without crimp groove, and loaded over compressed charges for jacketed bullets.  Gas checked of coarse.  Air cooled wheel weights will be adaquate if LBT bullet lube is used, and will perform almost exactly like good jacketed, on game, or paper, without leading.  It's a beautiful cast bullet gun because of it's low working pressures and velocities, but it's mean on game up to Moose.
