Well I don't have the problem with a private company with a union in there, I don't hold those up with my tax money so anything that happens financially is the companies problem and the folks that work there...up to them. If the place falls flat the union moves it's offices to the next place it's not affecting me personally. Public unions for me is a different story, they are using my tax money, so it's a different deal for me. Exception of course would be government motors... now there was a private company with a union I was forced to hold up with my tax money...but that's a different story. So I guess it boils down to who's money, and then are they running in the red or black? Do we even have any money left for taxes let alone to give everyone what they demand? ...and that neat stuff. It's all a cycle really...when the tax payers run out of money and most of them are all laid off, the next step of course is laying off government workers, or any place that has to have tax money to survive. It's a natural thing really...nobody wants to be out of work, but it's kind of impossible for the private sector to take a big hit and not have anyone in the public sector feel anything at all...eventually...they will feel it too, they always do, and there is always going to be people screaming when tax money is less. Just the way it is I think. Will there always be unions? Maybe depends on if it's mandatory or not...unions might shrink some if there was a choice...but it's up to the unions to prove their worth to the people they represent, and not everyone likes the idea they send their money to political parties. I have talked to people who are in a union who hate the things the union does with their money, but they are stuck with it. I personally got nothing against unions in the private sector, not my business, but where my money goes and how much of it goes into the public place, is all my business...I'm paying for that. My opinion...and I like teachers, nothing to do with that at all, I will always remember a couple of my teachers even at this old age.
