Hammer Extension For Newer BLR?
« on: August 30, 2011, 07:18:59 AM »
Just started doing some research for a hammer extension for a 2008 'Lightweight' BLR. I see about 10 listed at Midway, some for other specific firearms(Encore etc). I see weight mentioned, possibly heavier steel affecting hammer fall? Some provide measurements to see if your hammer will fit in the slot on the extension.

I got this BLR on a whim & don't plan to use it right away, though I did see it's tight between the hammer & scope. Does anyone have a favorite extension that works well with a newer BLR? Or maybe one you don't like? Thanks.

If your BLR has the folding hammer spur-cum-safety, AFAIK there's no offset spur available.

Yes, I think this model does have the folding hammer, I'll check on that. As of now I can get the hammer back O.K., may be a little tighter with gloves though.

Had the same problem. They don"t make one even Browning. But after a little pratice it was easy to use, just pull your glove off before cocking in cold weather. My old blr in .358 does need the extencion but those are easy to find.
