Anyone using them? I know Bushnell, ATN and Hakko have them dont know how well they work or how tough they are.

I just traded for a used Holosight. I currently have it on a Beretta 22 auto for pratice and couldn't be happier. I have it sighted at 25yrds. I backed up to 50 and then 100 yrds and hit the target. I had to raise it at 100, but the point is that I could see well enough to hit with no magnification. I love the absence of the need to get the scope to open for me and I love being able to shoot with both eyes open. I am trading my contender for an encore and plan to put it on my white deer barrell. I have never shot over 100 yrds and know it is going to do a great job.

Here is a link to my review of the Bushnell Holosight. I believe they are made by EOTech.

Good to hear from you GB. I should have known you would have a test on the Bushnell :) . Would you recomend it on a Benelli for Turkey hunting? Thanks.

I have one on my Ruger Blackhawk. It has been on several different guns of mine, and has worked great. I did not like the look on some guns, so that is why it changed around so much. I think it will work great on a Turkey gun. It handled the recoil of my S&W500 with no problem at all. Hope this helps.

ATN Ultrasight
« Reply #5 on: January 29, 2004, 01:58:22 AM »
The ATN Ultra Sight is a piece of crap! The first one I had came apart on my T/C Contender. I sent it in for repair. They sent me a used sight as a replacement but it was bad too. It had a number of switch positions that didn't work. I sent it back and they finally sent me a NEW sight which I sold immediately. In addition to the above it isn't bright enough to use against a bright background.

I have one on my Benelli SBE which I use for turkeys.    I also have one on my Encore turkey gun.  I cant think of a better turkey sight.

And.. put it on my .50 cal barrell and use it on my FA 454.   I love this thing!!!  You cant go wrong with one..or 2 for that matter:-)

My Ultra Sight  fell apart on my T/C with a 357 Maximum barrel. It can't stand recoil. You put it on a 454 and you'll end up with pieces. Perhaps you can see the display against a green background but it doesn't show up very well against a sandy background.

But don't believe me. What do I know? Find out for yourself.

Sorry to have not noticed the question sooner.

I personally don't use scopes or red dot sights on shotguns but I see no reason not to use it on your Bennili if you want to. It should easily hold up to the recoil. I sure gave it a lot more than that and it took it fine.
