Let me start off by saying I have always been a savage fan. Every 110 or stevens I've ever owned has been a shooter. My wife needed a new gun for hunting and being that she is only 5'0" tall she needed a youth model. I've looked at the axis or edge as it used to be for a few years and just really never liked the feel or the look of it so I discarded the thought of ever owning one. Well I found a 7mm-08 which is the caliber she was wanting new in box for $200 and thought we'd give it a try. Needless to say I am super impressed. Before even shooting it I replaced the spring in the trigger which reduced the pull to probably around 3.5 to 4 pounds but it's a huge improvement over the factory pull. I loaded some berger 140 gr vld's over some reloader 15 and starting with a middle of the road load worked my way up to max load of 42 grains. Which for $200 bucks I was satisfied because it was a solid 1" gun. Then I adjusted the seating depths my original load was 3 thousand's off the lands so I loaded up 4-6 thousand's off , 4- touching the lands and 4- 20 thousands into the lands. The farther I got into the lands the tighter the groups got the into the lands load I only shot 3 out of the four cause I was excited and didn't want to mess the group up with a careless shot. So here are my results. The first group is me at 100 yards the second is me at 200 yards and the third is my wife at 200 yards all of them are 3 shot groups. Man am I impressed.
