? Ruger emblem on Floorplate M77 Mark-II?
« on: August 31, 2011, 02:57:00 PM »
Does a Ruger Emblem on the Floorplate of a Ruger M77 Mark-II indicate a certain (LTD) Model?

Seems to me Cabela's was selling a Grade-II back a few years that I thought had this emblem on florrplate.

Got a Mk-II 30-06 that has the Floor plate Emblem, Satin wood that is pretty good (not necessarilly Grade-II looking) no Black fore-end cap. So was wondering.

Unlike Browning and others, Ruger doesn't do the "grade" variations.  Some distributors and retailers have had non-cataloged models, some more recent ones would have different wood and a more polished finish.  No "grade-___" models though.    I do recall the a few that had floorplate engraving but can't recall if they had the Ruger eagle specifically.  Could've been something added after leaving the factory also.  There's also Baron Technology...

Seems the Hawkeye has the same emblem on it, and it looks like a Hawkeye stock. The blueing is Gloss, unlike Hawkeyes. Maybe they ran whats left of the Mark-II actions with Hawkeye stocks. Trigger feels nice but haven't checked to see if it's the LC-6 or not.
Got my fingers crossed that it's a shooter. ;)
