They passed their test!!

My 14 year old nephew took his hunter safety course and scored a 90%!! And as an added bonus my 12 year old niece (his little sister) surprised us all by taking the course and scoring a 100%!! I'm so proud of both of them.
Mike can get his junior big game license now which means he can legally hunt deer as long as he's with an adult. Kate doesn't want to hunt but she thought it was important to take the course. I'm real proud of her whether she hunts or not. ;)
I'm planning on taking Mike to one of my opening day "honey holes" and sitting with him. Of course I'll bring a gun but he'll be doing the shooting this time. With any luck the shooting I'll do will be with my camera!!
Did I mention that I was very proud of the kids!! ;D

Sounds to me like those two youngster are very lucky to have a Grunt for an uncle! ;)

Great news Spanky. A big Congrats to Mike and Kate. It's always nice hearing good stories like this of kids learning and appreciating the shooting and hunting sports.

Spanky, congrats to Kate and Mike, you and their parents.  My dad did not hunt, but he knew I was bitten by the bug and he made sure I got my firearm and bow hunter safety courses in, and took me hunting.  I miss him.

That's great news Spanky, we need as many new hunters among us that we can get. I get way more enjoyment out of taking kids hunting, I'd much rather see them do the shooting. I'm hoping to get my son out this year. He's 9 and has a 45 Colt Handi. He says he wants to go and he does well shooting at 25 yards with his Handi.

My girlfriend is signed up for hunters safety in Maine, the course starts next week. She's 39 and this will be her first year hunting in her life.

Congratulations! Shouldn't it read they passed the test? I don't like it being called hunter's education it should be called Firearm,Hunter and Outdoor Education. Good luck and take plenty of pictures to remember it by.

Atta way!  Got 3 boys that have passed and one only 6, so a few more years for him.  The 3 girls, (yes that's 7 total), like to shoot but aren't interested in hunting yet.  DP

Oops on that one. I fixed it.
I can't wait for hunting season this fall. I've got his 44 mag Handi all ready to go and plenty of batteries for the camera. ;)  My camera can record 42 minutes of video so if he gets a shot I'm going to be filming. ;D

 Congrats Spanky, and kids. Like hearing about kids taking advantage of the Hunters Ed. Good luck on the hunt. Always fun to watch them when the first Deer comes strolling thru ;)
