Flags raise the ire of all---I never understood that.
What is the big deal about a flag? Unless--UNLESS--it expresses supreme loyalty.
It can express local, regional or state loyalty---but supreme is another thing.
Now, I have just one true loyalty---Christ Jesus is His name.
Blessings

this is similar to atheist trying to ban prayer, it's a bunch of small minded people who lead miserable lives and want everyone else to be miserable.
this country has gotten so PC lately that it's sickening.

The thinking that led to this is exactly what Cleburne warned of when he wrote, "Surrender means that the history of this heroic struggle will be written by the enemy; that our youth will be trained by Northern school teachers; will learn from Northern school books their version of the War; will be impressed by all the influences of history and education to regard our gallant dead as traitors, and our maimed veterans as fit subjects for derision.

But, so long as it is evenly enforced, I don't have a lot of problem with it.  No "pride" flags of any sort. No team flags, none of those idiotic seasonal or holiday flags.  As soon as one of those goes up SCV will have a valid case.

Take out the word Northern and that speech could have been said by any Indian chief. In fact it pretty much was by a few.

Funny how some feel threatoned by a person's personal decision to fly a flag that is still a valid piece of this Country's history.

Old Stonewall will be spinning in his grave.  Lexington is one of the pinnacles of Confederate history, ie, Va. Military Institute, and Washington and Lee colleges.....history is inescapable.  The flag is only a part of that history.  Small minds can't encompass great events....

Flying a flag or displaying a flag is a constitutional right. This very right was paid for by the blood of many patriots. Up in NY, we even fly the Canadian flag out of respect for our northen neighbors. If I had a Confederate Flag, I would not hesitate to fly or display it. Its an important part of our American history. I would not be ashamed to fly or display any Native American flags or items. I have 2 native made necklaces given to me and Donna, by a good friend, that I proudly display in my home. They were carved out of bone, one represents the wolf clan, and the other is the mother earth turtle.
As far as teaching anything in our schools, it is our obligation to monitor and balance our children's education. These forums help keep the truth alive.
