Finally got a chance to get to the range with my Super 35 Remington hand loads. I have been waiting on the weather to cool down. This morning was not bad so I braved a trip to the nearby public range. I need to remember to bring my body armor next time. If you shoot at a crowded uncontrolled public range, you know what I mean.
My loads consisted of the Hornady 200 grain Flextip bullet over a hefty charge of Reloader 7. Load data (+P) has been posted on this site by some very knowledgeable guys so if you search, you can find it. Brass came from factory loads that were tipped with the same bullet and had shot 1.3 inch 3 shot groups a while back.
Overall, I am very pleased. I was able to best the factory groups every time and there was no evidence of excessive pressure issues. Better still, I have yet to experience a FTF with the 35 Remington with either factory or hand loads. If you handload, just take care not to set the shoulder back when resizing but those who handload probably already know that.
Also shot my 223 Handi loaded with Barnes X bullets which I plan to use on a hog this year. Shot fairly well.
Had one of my 243 Handi rifles too. No comment on the grouping. My 243 Handi rifles are finicky and I do not know why.
